Packing Tips for Your Spring Break Getaway

Monday, March 7th, 2011

Spring break is quickly approaching!  Do you have your plane tickets?    Hotel reservations?    So, what’s next?  Oh, yeah, packing.  Lucky for you Betty’s Book of Laundry Secrets has some helpful packing tips on what to bring and how best to pack.  This means less time fussing with an iron and more time having fun!

1.  Roll clothes rather than folding them.  They are less likely to get wrinkled.

2.  When you arrive, unpack right away and hang everything up.  Sometimes you can hang clothes in a steamy bathroom to get out minor wrinkles.

3.  Choose and pack clothes that don’t wrinkle easy.

4.  Take a big plastic bag or spare bag to put all of your dirty laundry in so you are not mixing dirty clothes with clean ones as you go.

5.  Select travel clothes that don’t weigh a lot.

6.  Pack clothes in garment bags.  They really do keep suits and dresses looking fresh.

7.  Keep your toiletries in a plastic bag to avoid leaks and stains.  Better yet, carry your toiletry bag in your carry-on-bag when flying if possible.

8.  Put your shoes in bags so they don’t soil your clothing by rubbing up against them.
